How to reach Kursk, Russia from KLIA?

Obviously it will be cold.. temperature averaging the high of -16 degrees celcius and the low of -40 degrees celcius.

Hello! If you are searching for a blog which illustrates living as a student in Kursk, Russia you came to the right place. =)

I don't really blog as much as I used to now days. This update is just for the sake of new students who are coming and will be coming to Kursk to study soon.

Things that you should pay attention to if you are coming in September.

i) temperature isn't that low. Around 18 degrees Celsius.

ii) no you don't need any super thick jackets from Malaysia and even if you really need those, you can't find suitable ones in Malaysia... So, just bring some nice jacket to wear.. In the fashion sense, I mean.

iii) you need only 2 books.. Atlas of Human Anatomy and Histology Atlas.

iv) monthly allowance depends on your usage.. The lowest I know of is around RM 400 and the highest is basically any amount? On average.. around RM 500-800 is fine.

Holidays in Kursk~

Okay..I just sent off a few seniors, Hock Seng, Sze Ye, ML, Yang Xin to their mashroot (van) as they are headed to Italy for a week! So awesome!~ I wish I am able to go, you know? But then I decided to stay here in Kursk again.

Classes are starting on the 7th of February.. Somewhere there... and so, this basically means that I have around a week left for my holidays..

Holidays been quite a bore as there is nothing much to do here. Been reading quite a lot been sleeping quite a lot. No basketball games to be played as I think most of the people are either back in Malaysia for CNY or in Europe touring. My only exercise for this holiday so far is walking.. walking.. walking.. and more walking... in the cold.. yeah..

This winter is kinda warm but still cold enough to freeze every drop of water outdoors.. temperature ranges from -4 to -15 at night.

Nothing else to update. This is quite a lame update.. I know.. but I am bored... BORED!!

New students coming in around the last week of next month~ Well, honestly.. last time I was really excited about new people coming here.. but now the excitement sorta..... well.. kinda like dying.. ahhaha..

Well, if any of you are reading this.. (future Kurskians)

PLEASE DON'T BUY ALL 3 BOOKS THE AGENT IS RECOMMENDING!!

Howdy, I am not sure if anyone read this blog anymore but I just wanna do this post as I feel like doing it. X)

Well then, I've heard rumors that there will be a new student will be reaching this mid February? mhmm.. not too sure though. Anyway, welcome? Future students~

I am currently having my exams~ So far, I finished 1 paper, technically but I have got grades for 2 papers. Why? Thanks to Russian education's wonderful system, "aftomark" system. ahhaha!

Results so far.. Chemistry 4, Bio 5.

Kursk's winter

Kursk's winter this year had an unexpected twist.. the coldest record for winter this year so far is -28.. (Which is btw the coldest we had last year) and the best part is.. we are only 6 days into winter.. This winter should be a really cold one..

anyway.. anybody has any questions about Kursk.. Do ask me.. Recently received an e-mail from a parent (which i replied, sorry for the late reply tho) and boy I was glad that my blog is read by potential students and their parents.. =)

Welcome to my blog.. I am Kok Horng.. People call me Kelvin here though..

Hello.. It came to my knowledge that the new students are coming to Kursk on the 29th and the 30th of September!!

So, I think there are a few people reading my blog that are future students that will be coming here to study.. So, I thought I would wanna give some head-ups for those new students..

I will give some suggestions as to what to bring and what to expect here in Kursk..

I will just start off with what to bring...

The first question that arise after being told the departure date in an average future student mind is.. What should I bring?

Here are my personal suggestions based on some personal experiences..

1. You guys don't have to bring super think clothes.. Just some sweaters.. and a windbreaker will do.. You do not.. DO NOT need to go to some shop and buy a winter jacket that will cost you quite a large sum of money! By shop is mean.. Univers*l Trav*ell*r and Winter's T**e etc.. WINTER IS OVER~!! It is spring now! Although the temperature is still around the sub-zeros.. but I think a sweater+ a t-shirt + a windbreaker (or normal jacket) is WARM enough! Mind you.. there are no fans and aircons indoors.. so.. taking out all your layers indoors is quite troublesome!

2. Well, MALAYSIANS!! You better bring a rice cooker along with you because there are no rice cookers for sale in Kursk.. So, if you wanna eat rice.. I suggest you bring a rice cooker along.. If your bag is too heavy and you cannot afford to leave anything in Malaysia (means you cannot bring a rice cooker here).. You can consult me for the method to cook rice without rice cooker! ahhaha.. I am a pro in doing that as my rice cooker spoiled. I developed a method to cook rice.. ehhehe.. XD

3. Books for first year.. mhmm.. YOU ONLY NEED AN ANATOMY ATLAS!! THAT'S ALL!! NOTHING ELSE!! (UNLESS YOU PLAN TO STAY HERE FOR SUMMER.. VERY VERY VERY FEW SENIORS DO THAT THOUGH)..

4. You will obviously need a medical coat and a medical cap.. =))

5. If you wanna cook curry or any other dishes that requires some special stuff.. For example.. curry powder.. chili powder.. ikan bilis.. oyster sauce.. chili sauce.. ikan bilis cube.. dark soya sauce.. You better bring them from Malaysia.. =))

Moving on.. As to what to expect.. mhmm.. I saved the best at fifth! ahhha.. make sure you read it.. XD

First thing to expect is actually from the Russian customs.. They will ask you a question when they see your passprot/visa.. "Otkuda?" Yeap.. it is in Russian!! They obviously know you are a first timer and yet.. they insists on speaking Russian to you first.. Well, it actually means.. "from where?" But when they ask u.. just tell them you don't speak Russian.. They will "kindly" repeat it in English..

Second thing.. to those future first years.. PREPARE FOR ATRABODKA!! It means extra class or detention class if you may.. ahhaha.. you guys are late for like 1.5 months! So, you guys gotta catch up with you lessons.. XP

Third.. Prepare quite some money in your atm.. You don't have to bring US$ 1000.. just bring 200-300 should be enough BUT make sure you have money in your bank account so that you can cash out from the ATM in the university.. (In order to save from the conversion loss!) Speaking of ATM cards.. Make sure you activated you "PLUS" service or the oversea service activation.. If not.. you will face trouble cashing out your money!

Fourth.. Prepare for slippery roads.. I think by the time you come here.. the ice would have melted away totally.. but I still have some doubts.. So.. be careful.. I mean slippery as in really slippery!! LOOK WHERE YOU ARE WALKING!! If you see a clear surface.. you better re route!! ahhahah... Trust me.. I tried "skating" down a 1 meter stretch.. Well.. today afternoon.. LOL.. If you are caught in the slide.. try not to move your legs.. just stay still.. you will "skate".. ahahah.. if you move.. PREPARE TO FALL HARD ON ICE!! =))

Fifth.. This is actually the BEST part! BE PREPARED TO WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! and WAIT! while registering! ahhahha.. Well.. AT LEAST A FEW HOURS! ahhahaha.. Its the "Welcoming" gift from Russia to you!! XD

Sixth.. Don't expect teachers to speak good english, okay? Don't get your hopes too high because before you realize.. IT WILL BE CRUSHING DOWN ON YOU!!

I was on a plane and a HOT RUSSIAN CHICK SAT NEXT TO ME! I know right, finally! We talked casually and she spoke English. During the 5 hours journey from Doha to Moscow, something happened. She wanted to go to the loo and I was in the way as she was seated next to the window and me and another person was blocking. She literally crossed over me! She was right in front of me.. mhmm.. start thinking what I mean.. XP.. The next time around, when she wanted to come back in.. her a$$ was................... yea.. opposite direction. =) Lucky she is pretty! X) Okayy! Let set the record straight! I offered to go out to let her pass.. she said, "Its okayy.. I can.." Those were the exact words.. She insisted I sat down. Seriously..

I started my journey to Kursk from Moscow's Domodedovo (something like that) airport. My hand phone's battery was a flat out before the journey even started. I didn't know I can ever sleep on a bus. I did.. And Sam gotta hit me to wake me up.. Literally.. LOL

I finally reach the hostel! I didn't know I would feel so happy to reach my hostel... Its the long and tiring journey perhaps?

Oh.. I almost forgot, its Merdeka Day already. Happy Birthday, my country, Malaysia! Thanks for not giving me a scholarship despite my good results, thanks for giving me 101 reason to NOT feel sorry should I ever decide that Malaysia is not a place for my children to grow up. Thank you, Malaysia for being my home, really, without wax. Despite the many things I dislike in my country, there is still my home, but almost certainly not for my children.

A dedicated post.. Specially for my new friend..

Today, 6th April 2010, is a sad yet happy day for me.. I was suddenly told by one of my newly acquainted friend, Jasmine, that she will not be coming back here to Russia together with me after we go home for summer holidays.. But instead, she will head off to Ireland to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor that dedicates her life to helping people (unable to seek medical attention due to poverty).

I am indeed happy for her because Ireland is obviously a better place than Russia is, in terms of living standards, in terms of advancement in medical technology, in terms of lecturer education level.

Having said that, I am yet sad because as different as we maybe, as short as I know her ( 2nd week of acquaintance), I feel that we sort of "ngam key" (cantonese) and now she will be leaving.. I guess this is all part of life, like an accident along your road of life..

Bare in mind that this is not a farewell post for her, nor is this an expression of pure emo-ness.. It is the way I react to sudden situations..

During today's exceptionally long shower.. I tried to close my eyes and picture my life in 5 years' time.. I can't.. Perhaps, life is never meant to be foreseen.. never meant to be known before it happens.. Its funny how some very small things lead to another and then another and then the imagination just keeps going further and further..

you know.. one cannot really turn back at the end of the path that one chosen because one found out that what lays at the end of the chosen path is not what one had wanted or wished for.

what one can do.. and what one should do.. one knows it best! No point saying "if i hadn't done that".. because there are no if's in life, are there? life is nothing but a road with millions of junctions.. millions of possibilities.. this road is a never starting one, actually, nobody knows when or where or how or even why this road is started so long ago and this road i believe is a never ending one. what we know is limited to what science knows so as to say it.. this road.. it begun from the union of a sperm cell with an ovary in the human body and developing from a single cell and forms a human being.

i say this road is a never ending one because what matters most about this road, called life, is what we the travelers of this road left behind. everything we say.. every action we done.. each and everything that is done by our action is like a ripple.. it influences others and thus influences more and more other people.

since we are on a road dividing into millions of other roads, it is only wise if we could just chose the correct paths from the beginning because this road, is a one-way-street. although i may not deny that paths will not intercept again after you chose the wrong path.. but the probability is almost negligible. it would take a miracle for it to happen, really.. miracle is actually defined as an incident that is impossible to happen but just happened by a slim chance which term is used to give hope to hopeless people so that they can get a grip of what they are doing.. so, in other words, don't give yourself an excuse to wait for a miracle to happen but chose the correct path from the beginning or rather.. chose what you think is the correct path from the beginning without the influence of anyone..

yea.. you won't know if that junction you picked is the correct one until you read the end but let your conscious mind do the job alongside with your heart, these are the guidelines that God granted to each and everyone of us.. (besides various writings, teachings etc)

if the junction you took lead you to a wrong direction, what you could do is at least smile and look back at the mistakes you make and say "how foolish i was".. and start telling others that are travelling on the path that you walked and ask them to make a different turn the next junction of the road..

i wish all of us the best of luck in whatever we are doing and i will pray for us too, for the dexterity in our future decision making..

i hope my image of the perfect world will come true, one day.. one fine day..

nobody know who we will be in the future as it is unforeseeable.. God knows.. perhaps.. God knows.. for that I pray.. I pray silently..

say good bye to 2009 and say please treat me well to 2010

Today, 31 December 2009 marks the significant end of the year 2009.

Year 2009 was a significant year, to me, at least. It stared out bring as I had nothing to do (waiting for SPM results) and ended up putting me in Russia.

March 2009 was a twist of fate in my life, no matter how one looked at it. I received my SPM (Malaysia's O level) results (which I think is something I am proud of) in March. I was quite worried before I got my results as I did fairly bad for my trials.. XD ahahha..

After receiving my SPM results, although I was sure I am going to Russia to study but due to negative views from people that are in Russia made me doubted it for a while. I had mixed (screwed up) emotions. I tried talking to many people to "un-screw" my emotions but it didn't really worked bu end up it turned from bad to worse. Then, I talked to this online-acquaintance, that I got acquainted via a count down to SPM results group, she sort of cleared up my mind. She got my to realize the forgotten purpose that made me make up my mind to set of to Russia. Wen Lyn, you know its you right? =)) WAIT! Queen Lynn ( I wonder how I ended up calling you Queen Lynn.. *shrugs* Ohh well.. Queen Lynn that is)

life in winter

30th of March 2009, I took off to a foreign land alone. Although there are many other Malaysians together on the journey but I felt lonely, somehow. 1st of April 2009 was really a new beginning in my life as I set foot in the place called Kursk. I gotta admit that I was SHOCKED.. or rather DISAPPOINTED with what I see when I first arrive. Despite the seniors being nice and all, I still have this "I-hate-this-place" feeling. Why? Because this place is SHIT even when compared to Malaysia!!! The best description I can give all of you about this place is...... say.. Alor Setar? Just bigger.. transport system and town management (The town is organize in a way that the streets is always parallel and perpendicular to each other or in other words it is quite hard to get lost so as long as you are in the town centre) are more successful. But still I WAS DISAPPOINTED!!

Minutes passed.. Days came and went.. Weeks end.. Months went by and A YEAR is closing by..

Now, for me, this place isn't as bad, is it? Well, true it still sucks but then I came to accept the fact that I gotta accept this place as my home for the next 6 years +.

Here, in Russia, I gain a lot of knowledge. No, not in terms of studies (100%), not yet, really. Here I learnt how to cook.. how to stay out of trouble.. how to judge people.. how to survive when you know there is nobody that is going to help you clean up your mess.. how to control my temper.. how to........ (I can daringly say that everything I learnt here cannot be learnt when I was at home).

I, too, experienced 4 seasons. Through this experience, I also realize something.. Nothing is perfect, after all. This fact can be viewed from the seasons.. Let's start with with winter shall we?

Winter is white and pretty but it comes with a shivering-numbing cold. Somedays in winter, the floors are muddy, wet, slippery and snowy. Some days the floors are covered with a THICK LAYER of snow which is ahrd to walk on and slippery at the base. Some days the floors is covered in a layer of ice.. PURE SKILL NOT TO FALL!! Not to mention the ever stalking strong wind that can actually give one continuous light pushing and when u have no grip of the ground (on ice).. *BANG* you see yourself laying on the ground..

Spring is the season that everyone waits as spring marks the end of winter. But spring is not so nice, really. The weather is getting hotter and the ice starts to melt. urgh...!!

Summer..... I classify this season as the best of all imperfects.. because MALAYSIA HERE I COME~~!! Summer in Russia is DRY AND as hot (sometimes hotter) as (than) Malaysia!!

Autumn.... I think Autumn is really a sad reason.. where everything starts "to die". Leaves starts falling off the trees as it gets colder too..

If u ask me.. the perfect season is actually a combination of all 4 seasons actually.. Where the view is like winter, all white and beautiful, the temperature is like autumn, always in the 10's, the liveliness in Spring, the flowers all start to grow, and of course.. like summer.. when the holidays begin..

Well, IMpoSSIBLE!!!!! This is life and it sucks but I am enjoying life, really..

Finally, I wish everyone that I know, who knows me, that are reading this note a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let's us all pray for a better 2010!! May all of you guys enjoy this new year's eve with those who are dear to you! Drink but don't drive after drunk.. Have fun but keep a sane mind.. =))

THE SNOW IS SO DAMN THICK!!!!!!!!

Well, what can I say.. Life here in Kursk, Russia is dull.. boring.. more or less "dead". Daily routine almost never changes..
Try taking a look at my life for a while, will you?
Monday's, Tuesday's, Wednesday's, Thursday's,Friday's and Saturday's :

wake up at 8 am.. Brush teeth.. shower.. etc
leave the hostel's door by 8:30 am
start class at 9 am
end class at 2:30 pm / 4:30 pm (on Tuesday's and Thursday's and Friday's)
reach home 30 minutes later
take out whatever I wanna cook from the freezer
shower
watch a few episodes of Hong Kong TVB series
start cooking at 6 pm
finish eating and washing the dishes at 7:30pm
homework
sleep at 12 am

Yes, 1-12 is my life from Monday to Saturday..
*yes.. I study on Saturday's too..

Life here repeats until you will have this weird feeling of "dee ja vu" sometimes..

Only 1 weekend day.. Sunday.. when you can do whatever you wanna do from morning till evening but then again.. homework at night.. then the cyclic process repeats again..

"Ever wonder why do you get drunk after drinking alcohol?

i'm currently doing revision for my this saturday major test in pathology of physiology (i just love 3rd year cuz the subjects are so interesting =D). i just finished doing revision on the topic of acute and chronic alcohol action in our body.

it's kinda interesting topic. as you people know, i love drinking (but i cut down a lot already.. not because i want to, but i need to.. lolz.. i know i'm getting mature..) so i'm happy to know exactly what is happening while i'm drinking.

i wont get into too deep about the mechanism ( i dont think my seniors here need to read this blog as they know well better than i do..just wanna give some tips to other people actually.. and i have a theory..). acute means you consumed a lot of alcohol in a short duration while chronic basically is alcoholism. i will explain more in acute as most people has this effect while clubbing.

there are 3 stages in acute alcohol action in our body :

1st : excitation

after consuming certain among of alcohol, your body starts to release some mediators that cause higher excitation in your higher nervous system. That is when you start to develop euphoria. now you understand why you are soooo happy after drinking right? you start to do something you usually dont do while you are fully conscious.

2nd : inhibition

as the time goes by, you start to feel tired cuz all the mediators that your body are used up, and new mediators start to develop which cause you to have nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, and of cuz you will not walk straight that time. this is because the alcohol has reached your brain stem and start to kacau the part that control your coordination and your hearing (you started to talk loudly). high dosage of alcohol also make you weak cuz your body respiration also decreases.

3rd : narcotic stage

no need to say much, you are basically KO. lolz..

You know, actually it's really difficult to release yourself from these thoughts that flash pass your mind and these feelings that you feel especially when it's been holding on to you for quite some time, eating up your insides and keeping you trapped, alive in a box that limits your boundaries, your moving space.

I personally know the weight that comes with all this extra baggage because I've been carrying it with me for the past few years and it has really turned me into someone.. Someone that I barely know or should I say.. Someone that I don't even know..

Sometimes I still do struggle with these emotions, trying to break free from these constrains and I always try my best to forgive, and love unconditionally, to not be held back by fear, which is really what I try to make my life about.

Because here is how I see it, the more we hold on to a past grudge, or the more we avoid taking risks in life to achieve what we want or rather what we believe we want, the smaller our world gets.

We draw a boundary for ourselves and lock ourselves in it.

Boundaries are supposed to be overstepped (or I rather say boundaries are supposed to be drawn after we overstepped our initial boundaries), to be pushed and to be overcome because the world as we know it is limitless. (still there are certain constrains we gotta limit ourselves at)

As beings with minds and emotions its so hard to keep in check and still realize that you don't have to create restrictions for yourself and that you are meant to go and do whatever you like, because then, we might as well surrender ourselves to a life of misery.

So, basically I am suggesting you guys to go and be whoever you are or whoever you want to be, do whatever you like, and most important of all, make sure there isn't a second when you aren't happy or regret.. (=

But of course do keep a sane mind when doing those things.. Illegal stuffs should be out of bounce at all time peps.. ^^

I don't know how true is the below information. I just thought that why not tell you guys what MIGHT be true to be sure! Just ask a "suspected" stroke person to do 4 simple actions as stated the below and you might just save a life.

Why not be a fool, when there is a chance that you can be a savior to a person.

If you want to, please spread this piece of information to the rest of your friend, you will never know, you MIGHT save someone's life for your action..

INFORMATION EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW........ ......... ........

Stroke develops suddenly and you MIGHT save that person who is "suspected" developed a stroke!
You can help to decrease the effect of stroke of you follow the following steps.. (if the person is unconscious)

Call paramedic/ambulance etc
leave the person that is "suspected" had developed a stroke where he/she is at.. without moving him/her, as excessive movement can cause more blood vessels to be broken..
puncture a hole at the tip of the person's finger (each and every of them) with a preferably clean needle.. This is to reduce the overall blood pressure of the person's bloodstream. (If you don't already know, a person's heartbeat can pump blood up to a height of 30 feet (approximately 2.5 stories high))

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE:

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE, coherently. (i.e. It is sunny out today.)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

**If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Can money give a person happiness? Is money synonymous to happiness?
*note* - I mean a lot of money.. like tens of millions!!

I believe this question have been answered, debated, argued etc among all classes of people time and again over the centuries..

But something came across my mind about this topic
and
I thought "Why not share it with you guys?"

Right.. here is what I wanna say.. I hope you get me..

In my perspective, the answer for the question "can money give a person happiness?"..
My answer would be:

YES!
but then
its also a

NO!

yeapz.. Many of you will be like " WTF?!" by now.. oh well.. I do get you.. but hear what I gotta say..

My answer is "YES" in the sense that money can help you get the things you always wanted.

For example..
I like a car and with money I can get it..

When people get what they want.. Well, they will be happy, no?
Its that simple and no other hidden reasons or philosophy whatsoever.. Without money, you can't do that right?

Another example will be with money you can help people. Let's say you see a person or let's make it a friend.. that is in a really bad shape in the afternoon.. He haven't had lunch.. He just lost his job.. He got robbed.. He lost his car keys.. He can't get home for dinner as he promised he would..

And what if you saw him that afternoon but you too, have no money in your pocket..

Can you help him? Will you feel good not being able to help him?

The answers for both question is a BIG BIG "NO!" NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But then.. If you have money..

You will be able to spare him some cash simply to get him home and even treat him to lunch and cheer him up..

At the end of the day, you will receive a big thank you from him and that grateful look on his face and thankful gaze in his eyes towards you..

I am back in Malaysia!

heyy people! I am back in Malaysia.. I was so tired the day I reached KLIA.. I thought I wasn't.. LOLX..
The first day in Malaysia, I went to bed at 11 pm
and guess what..
I woke up at 16 35 the next day!!
ahhahaha... I guess I gotta admit I was very tired! ahahha...

Currently I am staying at home.
(I wish I could.. But I went out a few times).

I personally want to quarantine myself for a week to ensure that my friends will not be infected by the H1N1, incase I got it from Dubai International Airport, as I was there waiting for my transit plane back to Malaysia.. I was there for about 6 hours.

Dubai International Airport terminal 3 host passengers that uses Emirates to get to their desired destination. The passengers that wait for transit there are from almost every country including the States, Australia, Russia, China etc etc..

So far.. I show NO sign of H1N1.. aahahhaha...

Next Friday I will visit my secondary school.. Wesley Methodist School, Sentul. I wanna go back to my school to check it out.. I heard lots have changed.. So, let's see how true is that.. ^^ hahaha..

I will update once again after I vist my school.. ^^

The ability to know the facts?
The capability to create an illusion and image to the public?

I rather look at knowledge in an abstract way.

Knowledge to me is like understanding life from different prespective.
Knowledge is to me :
Understanding life from the aspect of love.
Understanding life from the aspect of wisdom.
Understanding life from the aspect of sympathy.
Understanding life from the perspective of another.
BUT
Most of all..
Knowledge is ultimately understanding life for one's self.

The understanding of knowledge cannot be defined into words, actually.
Because to understand the true meaning of knowledge is knowledge itself.

Di tempat asing ini aku masih melihat diriku terkapai kapai ditelan masa dan cabaran. Aku dapat melihat diriku jatuh satu persatu di depan teman- teman ku. Aku tak mampu melihat bagaimana mereka mampu melalui semua ini tanpa sebarang kebuntuan dan kesakitan di wajah mereka. Adakah mereka merasakan apa yg ku rasa atau adakah mereka bahagia di tanah asing ini, semua itu tak mampu untuk aku rungkaikan.

ramai orang disekeliling ku, namum semua mereka terlalu asing bagi ku dan sukar untuk aku menerima mereka dalam hidup ku. Pengalaman telah mengajar ku untuk terus berhati hati dalam memilih teman dalam hidup ku terutamanya di tanah asing ini.

My stress

At the final moment of a broken smoke from a burning cigarette… I came to realize that all my stress here is because of the place... the hostel… and most of all… the people…

This place is dirty... My room is messy accumulations of dust and stuff which I don’t how to handle due to constraints of space.

I FINALLY came to realize… no matter how close are you to another friend or another people… I would word it.. They just don’t care who you are. “Friends” are always number 3, 4, 5... Or worse… It is just a term to some of them…

its just me... here... alone... hurt… and push deep down till I can’t see myself again… Will I find myself? Will I? Can I?

Me and a survivor of the World War II

Hello.. Sorry for the late updates.. I have now top up my internet's credit. SO, here is the updates I promised..
Firstly, I start today's post with a Russian Hero to mark my respect towards those that sacrifice themselves for the better of mankind.. ^^
Before I start anything, let me introduce my classmates and teacher to you..
That is my Russian teacher, Madam Natalia.^^
My group mates are in the below picture..

Let me first tell you a little bit that I know about Victory Day. Victory Day is a day where the whole Russian, especially Kursk, pay tribute to their war heroes.

WHY Kursk especially? Because most of the soldiers that went for war under the flag of the Soviet Union was from Kursk.

Before going to the real content, here are some pictures first.. ^^
The war started in the year 1941 and ended in the year 1945. That is why you can see 2 years on the pole that symbolises "heroism".
The war I am talking about her is World War II.. Between Soviet Union and Germany.

At about 8 am, on 9th May 2009, I walked from my hostel, Общежймие Фармколледжа (Pharm college's hostel) to a place called "Жа Piza".. It is opposite my university, Курский Государственный Медицинский Университет(КГМУ), to view the begining of the marching... ^^
Here are the pictures :

This Letnin (spelling not sure) Street. Which is the busiest streets in Kursk, Russia. It was emptied on Labour dat once (1/5/2009) and also that day, which is victory day (9/5/2009).

This is the marching groups' leader. The representative of Russian Army.

The leader lead the marching. He kept his "salute" position for the whole 20 minutes journey as a symbol of respect to those that sacrifice in the War between 1941 and 1945.

Oh yea.. This is the place where I tried my Russian again. My most daring trial ever. While I was waiting for the march to begin, when the armies are getting ready to march, I said: "здравствуйте! Мошнo Я делат фотографию?" (Hello! Can I take a photography?)
Then, this is what happen..
He actually turned! ahahha...

Before the marchers can reach their destination, they have to pass by this church,

And, outside this church, the chuch's priest came out to welcome the marching armies along with some others.
Yea.. There they are.. XD

By the way, to all Christian friends, is this (picture below) Cross different from ours in Malaysia? I am told it is different, as, Christianity in Russia is mixed with Paganism.

I am told that the middle (the sun-like) image symbolizes the Sun God etc.. Please ask your Churches pastors etc? Can??

Then, we will get to see "oceans" of people infront of that memorial ground, where they have the pole you saw earlier and loads of massive cementry which pictures you will see later...
That is just portion of the total amount of Kurskian that attended this big ceromony.

I bet you are wondering what are they doing there right? This is what they do.. They will put red roses on the graves of their family members or their war-mates.. There are survivals too.. They went to war when they were only 15 + and thus their survive till today.
This little girl is so cute.. Do believe? Take a closer look.. ^^ Russian little kids are so cute.. XD

I want you guys to look at the following picture.. Do you see the 2 "mountain-like" grass thingy?
They are actually massive graves where they buried the soldiers massively.. Each graves have around 80-100 names and they are like so many of them.. litterally everywhere!

After the event of on Victory Day, we went to this place, The Catolic Church in Red Sqaure-the centre of Kursk (on Letnin Street too)
It is beautiful inside... but unfortunately, we were not allow to take pictures inside..

Then we went to some old teatre of someone legendary in Kursk.. LOLX.. I forgot his name.. LOLX..

when you slowly close your eyes before we fall asleep,
will we remember the moments that we have been together?
Perhaps we might… Perhaps we might not…
Well, that’s the problem…

Love holds a totally different definition varying on oneself... BUT no matter how deep one’s love towards another soul… “Love” never leave these classification..

“

Love was all about individuality…

Love is still about individuality…

Love will be about individuality…

”

Time and time again, mankinds have been proven wrong…

Proven wrong when they say:

“Love is mutual...”

Adam was deceived by Eve to take the forbidden fruit… WHY?

It is because he loved Eve… He trusted Eve… and what happened?

Adam got punished by the God … Am I not right? You see… Eve might loved Adam but because of her individuality she chose to let go of her love because she wanted to…… for whatever reasons…

That was based on the religious records… In real life, I am sure most of us have experience the “Wrath of Love” Yes, I know… Many people are getting married everyday… BUT I am sure you know that more signed the divorce papers everyday…

NOW the obvious reasons will be those that signed the papers will be they find it difficult to get along with their other half… Right?

The cause for that to happen is also individuality… There can never be a definite definition for love… EVER… because the concept of “love” is based on individuality…

I will use 3 girls and a guy from all walks of lives to illustrate my point…

The first girl, her name is Atalie, 24. She is a very sweet girl from a well-to-do family (some may consider her wealthy) but both her parents separate when she was quite young. She has 2 sisters and 1 brother. She is living with one of her sister with their mother while her brother and the other sister is with her father. She graduated with her degree from University of Melbourne, Australia. She is currently working is a multi-nation company. She has a lot of admirers.

The second girl, her name is Yu Hua, 24. She comes from an average family with a brother and a sister. Her family is complete, she is also blessed with beautiful physical appearance and she has never experienced shortage of money, clothes etc. But she always asks for more, from God, from her parents, and even from her elder brother. She has also graduated with a degree from a local private university as her parents were not that wealthy. She will always have guys after her.

The third girl, her name is Mable, 25. She is a perfect girl any guys would want. She has a pretty face, a perfectly ratio’ed body having what is needed and do not have what is not needed. She is a kind person that has no pride and prejudices again other people. She treats other people equally and that is why she is the “prefect girlfriend (wife)” in everybody’s fantasy for love. To add to this perfection, she is very smart and she graduated from Cambridge University, United Kingdom with her proud degree in natural science and being chosen to be one of the top 5 student in her batch. As expected, she has never had a shortage of guys after her and a great amount of fans and secret admirers, as I , said, she is “the perfect choice”.

The guy, another “perfect choice among the girls”. His name is Raymond, 28. He is a specialist doctor in a renowned specialist centre in his country. He got both his first degree and his specialist degree from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He is good-looking and nice to everyone. He is from a wealthy family and he drives a Porsche 911 turbo to wherever he goes. He is the only son in his family and he is being brought up comparatively strict by his mother and his father is a very strict father that wants his son to be discipline by his means. Therefore, he didn’t have any experience with “love” before he became a specialist.

The following story that I will tell to illustrate my point is based on my view on lovers with some elements from my imagination, if there is any match with you love story, it is just pure coincidence. This story is fictional at some point of time. So, stop anytime you feel like stopping.

“This is a story about “love” and “individuality”. I shall name it,

“Of Love and Individuality”

This story begins when Raymond was dating Mable. A perfect pair, won’t you say? The fusion of both perfect choices among the girls and the guys.

On the birthday of Mable (since both of them are together), Raymond bought Mable a present. As and Mable open up her present, she saw a necklace with diamonds that are as shiny as the stars under a cloudless night. She smiled palely. When Raymond say the expression of Mable’s face, he was disappointed because it took him a long time to chose that necklace for Mable. So, Raymond started the conversation

R: “Babe, you don't like the gift I got you?”

M: “Why would I not? I love it honey… Thank you!” *Leans over to kiss Raymond*

R: “Then, why you look unhappy?”

M: “I am not! I am just tired.”

Although Raymond knew she was unhappy, he just let it go…..

*A year minus 1 month had passed*

After last year’s experience, Raymond spend more time on choosing another gift for Mable. This time, he thought for a very long time as to what will Mable like for her birthday present. Then, he finally made up his mind.

He drove to the goldsmith shop that he used to go and asked the manager to bring him the most expensive diamond ring in that shop. He saw it, and he bought it without any further thinking. Then, he went to a necklace specialized shop to buy the most luxurious and the most beautiful necklace available in that shop. He ordered 99 roses from United Kingdom that to be delivered on Mable’s birthday.

*Mable’s birthday*

Raymond brought Mable to a new house that he recently bought and they have a candle light dinner there. Raymond brought the Head chef of a famous Italian restaurant in Italy to come cook for them that night. Then, suddenly Raymond of out of his seat and kneel before Mable and give her the 99 roses from United Kingdom and as she accepts the bouquet of lovely roses , Raymond opens the casing of the necklace with bigger diamonds and help Mable wore it. He then kneel again and reveals the big diamond ring to Mable and ……………

R: “Will you marry me, Mable?”

M: “ *silent for a while* I am sorry, Raymond. I can’t”

R: “*stunned* Why?! Why?! Why Mable?!”

M: “ I know you are nice to me and I know you love me very much but… but…”

R: “ but what? I can give you the world if the world is what you want! I can climb the highest mountain to tell the world I love you if that is what you want… I can even bring Mars to Earth if that’s your wish…”

M: “ I know you can do all that for me… I know you can get me the world, but what I really want is neither the world nor its people to know that you love me… I, too, also do not want Mars… What I want is very simple… Something that you failed to give me from the beginning… I thought my love for you can replace the stuffs that I expect from you… Now, I know… I was wrong… I was wrong from the beginning… Can we just remains as friends?”

R: “ NO!! What is that that you want?? Tell me, baby!” *tears start rushing out*

M: ”I want imperfection! I just want an island and you gave me the world. I just want a little you gave me all… What I want is imperfection… because its those little imperfection that makes our live truly perfect. That’s what I really want. But all that you gave me was not what I want… was not what I want from you..”

R: “I don't understand…”

M: “ That’s my point… I am sorry…”

In this second part of the main story, Raymond was with Yu Hua. Raymond and Yu Hua got along very well... at first.. The reason of this well kept relationship is because Yu Hua can get what she cannot get from her parents and brother. She wants Gucci, Prada, diamond necklace etc. All of these Raymond can get her. For Yu Hua, all she need to do to get all these things was to do her “duty” in bed to satisfy Raymond. Well, it worked quite well at first. Then, as time passes, Raymond is getting bored with this relationship and he decided to end it. Being a girl that wants stuffs that she couldn’t get before and suddenly got it now, Yu Hua of course didn’t want to let go. So, this relationship managed to last for a few more months, that time, Yu Hua finally fell in love with Raymond, not because of his money, not because of his looks.. BUT because she love him.

But, its too late… Raymond got bored with this relationship and he decided to end it………..

R: “Yu Hua, you are a nice girl but I think we should go our separate ways… I don't think I can take this anymore… I thought I love you and you love me… but I was wrong…”

Y: “NO!! I love you, Raymond!! I really do… I admit I liked you last time because of your money and because you can give me what I wanted but now, I finally realized that I love you for who you are not what you are..”

R: “I am sorry… All I want is what you are not.”

-second sub-story end-

Through both of his experience, Raymond learnt to “love” the correct way. Therefore, in this third and last sub-story, Raymond found his way to the destination of love..

He gave what Atalie wanted and Atalie gets what she wanted and both of them are now married living with 3 children.

As, I mentioned earlier, Atalie grew up in a harsh family environment, being the eldest, she sustained a lot of pressure from her growing up environment. She miss her other half of her family... Most of all, she miss the feeling being ”home” where she feels warm and safe. This what Raymond gave her. Raymond always invites Atalie with his family and very often he invites Atalie’s parents and siblings together for dinner etc. It is through Raymond, Atalie found the feeling of “home” and that is what Raymond get her. For Raymond, he wants a girls that is always willing to support him and understand him, that is what he get from Atalie. That is why, they can live together happily.

From the above 3 stories, you can clearly see that couples breaking up every day and married people getting divorced everyday because they cannot find what they want in the other half. Those that can mutually find the stuffs that they want in their partners is those that will stay happy forever.

Love is undeniably a 2 way thing. “Love” can be define as the fusion of 2 souls that get what they want for each other. You may make a pathway towards one because she found what you wanted in one. BUT in order this love to be unbreakable, one must also make a pathway towards you.

No matter how you look at “love”, “love” is always an individuality thing. There is no definite definition on what “love” is or how “love” look like but one thing is for sure, you, yourself, knows what “love” is… because it is you that decide what “love” is…

TO THOSE THAT FOUND “LOVE”, I HOPE YOU CAN HOLD IT AS IF YOU WERE HOLDING A KITE.. WHEN YOU HOLD TOO HARD, THE THREAD WILL BREAK BUT WHEN YOU HOLD TOO LOSELY THE KITE WILL FLY AWAY. TREASURE YOUR LOVERS AS IF TODAY IS YOUR LAST DAY TOGETHER.

hahaaha.. I wanna start today's entry with a special picture..
This picture is memoriable because it is the first time I talk to any strangers (Russians) in Russian Language or русский язык.. cause normally I just point and show fingers whenever I communicate with Russians. The first few words I used was to actually ask these girls whether I can take picture with them.. LOLX..

hello.. Its my 20th day in Kursk.. Guess what.. I jsut know that my summer holiday begins on the 26th of July 2009.. I book a flight back to Malaysia.. The flight is on the 28th July 2009! EMIRATES!!! Boeing 777.. SO its erm... 99 days more!! wooo~~ NINETY-NINE!!!

Anyway.. Most of you didn't know that I actually shifted from my ex-floor down to another floor.. So.. basically at this floor.. the toilets ain't dirty.. thre bathroom ain't flooded and the kitchen is decent.. (UNTIL I CAME) XD..

It took me damn a lot of trouble to change floor you know!! Write a petition to the Hostel Manager.. Mama Veira (A very nice lady).. Complain and complain and complain to all the seniors (so that they can help talk to mama Viera in Russian.. Although she can speak decent English..BUT IT IS ALWAYS THE BEST TO SPEAKTO RUSSIAN IN RUSSIAN!! ALWAYS!!!!!)

I am in Russia.. I reached here on the 1st of April.. Xin Yun's bday.. LOL..

Let me tell you guys a little more about Russia..

-The currency used in Russia is called roubles.. RM 1 = 9.2 roubles..
-YES! THE GIRLS HERE ARE HOT!! No matter what kinda quality you are looking for in a girl.. They have it all here.. There are package also.. meaning.. PERFECT RATIO!!
-Another YES! THEY are not friendly people.. Unless you speak their language.. yea.. If you speak English.. Everbody surrounding will look at you.. at their stares are like "You did something wrong" kinda stare..

ok.. So, i went back Alor Setar for a few days.. and.. I got to know that the house that my great grand father used to stay is going to be "knocked down" to make way for a bridge.

Venue: Tokai, Daerah Pendang, Kedah Darul Aman.

This are some last pictures that I took of the house of the "Ooi's" of my family.. The house where our generation started in Malaysia..

Ok.. that'sbasically all I got.. haahahha.. the GOOD NEWS isssssss............. THE GoVERNMENT IS PAYING more than RM 97,000 for that basically rotten house.. LOL.. hahaha.. BUT the bad news is.... the history of the "Ooi's" (of my family) which rooted from that very house is lost.... lost..... LOST FOREVER!! Nothing can be retrieved back ecept those pictures that I took and the image in my brain.. BUT it shall remain as..... MEMORIES and can never be physically felt again..

Farewell Malaysia Post! PART I

☞ I looked up to seek guidance from God.. THERE WERE NONE!! But when I look within my heart.. God was there after all..

I start today's post with the above quote because approximately 24 hours ago.. I was really confused as to what I wanna become in the future. Although I was quite certain that I wanna be a doctor.. BUT it is then I realized that I am scared, actually. So, I looked up to seek guidance from God..What I noticed is that.. THERE WERE NONE!! So, I disappointingly stared at my feet..

I was still trying to search for my answer as to carry on with my dream or not.. I tried seeking for advice.. Some of them helped.. Some made me more confused.. Finally I decided to seek deep in myself.. I found something, really.. Despite not receiving God's answers for my doubts when I look upon the sky, I found the answer I was seeking for somewhere closer.. my heart.. I don't know what was the overwhelming feeling was, actually.. That feeling was so strong! "GO RUSSIA!!!" & "BE A DOCTOR".. So, I simply called it God's guidance.. Sometimes, I think that there is a God within each one of us.. Because where your heart is, God is there..

So, I went to the agent there today.. Magaram Enterprise in Petaling Jaya, right in front of the Toyota service centre..

I got the date of departure (almost certain) which is 30th March 2009 12:55 am.. I will be leaving for the airport on 29th March 2009! THE GREATER THING IS that Vilyn (that prefect girl last year)will be at the airport at the same time!! LOL.. She is of course not going to Russia.. BUT to Japan! ahaha.. How I wish I board her plan instead.. LOL.. hahaha...

A story for you and me..

I arrived at the address where someone had requested a taxi. I honked but no one came out. I honked again, nothing. So I walked to the door and knocked. 'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.
After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie.
By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets..
There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.
'Would you carry my bag out to the car?' she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, and then returned to assist the woman.
She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb.
She kept thanking me for my kindness. 'It's nothing', I told her. 'I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated'..
'Oh, you're such a good boy', she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address, and then asked, 'Could you drive through downtown?'
'It's not the shortest way,' I answered quickly.
'Oh, I don't mind,' she said. 'I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice'.
I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. 'I don't have any family left,' she continued. 'The doctor says I don't have very long.' I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.
'What route would you like me to take?' I asked.
For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.
We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.
Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.
As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, 'I'm tired. Let's go now'
We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico.
Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up.. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her.
I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.
'How much do I owe you?' she asked, reaching into her purse.
'Nothing,' I said
'You have to make a living,' she answered.
'There are other passengers,' I responded.
Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly.
'You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,' she said.
'Thank you.'
I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.
I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift?
What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away?
On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life.
We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.
But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID, BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.

Time : 5:00pm to 7:45pm

Venue : Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

First we went to the Secruity post (the back of Mandarin Oriental Hotel / employees' entrance) to get a working pas which looks like this in order to go in..

Then, while waiting for the registration process, which took about 15 minutes.. I noticed something which my school (Wesley Methodist School)also has..

LOL.. Mrs. Mathews runs Wesley Methodist School like a hotel! kewl!! LOL.. I wonder if they have the so-called barber (*ahem* Mr. Naresh and Mr. Moore) to cut their hairs if the standard are not achieved by the hotel's employees.. LOL..

Back to the job.. LOL.. As I was entering the lobby area.. I saw the hotel's "music area".. I took a picture of it.. But its kinda blur..

Now.. the job starts..

This is a IMPORTANT part of the job.. I mean THIS IS ALL THE JOB IS ABOUT! Everything we need to set up the exhibition display set is this box.. This box cost RM7,000!! LOL..

In that box, you will find a small compressed stuffs which will end up like >>>>>>>>>
when expanded.. I did have enough time to take the picture of the compressed one because I was busy de-compressing it.. and puff/.. It expanded in to that in less than 3 seconds.. LOL.. I was like... O_O...

Then we start putting up the "holder"..

Later, after all the "holders" are in placed.. We put up the customized designed background (done by inject laser printing)

Well, all jobs aren't always as smooth.. Such as this job.. We have a little problem..

Then, when we repeatedly tried like 5 times or so.. the things still won't be even..

After some close observation.. LOL.. We noticed that the hotel's carpet has cause the structure to sunk and therefore push the designed background upwards..
SO SCREW IT! LOL..

The ILO estimates that approximately two million workers lose their lives annually due to
occupational injuries and illnesses, with accidents causing at least 350,000 deaths a year.
For every fatal accident, there are an estimated 1,000 non-fatal injuries, many of which
result in lost earnings, permanent disability and poverty. The death toll at work, much of
which is attributable to unsafe working practices, is the equivalent of 5,000 workers dying
each day, three persons every minute.
This is more than double the figure for deaths from warfare (650,000 death* per year).
According to the ILO's SafeWork programme, work kills more people than alcohol and
drugs together and the resulting loss in Gross Domestic Product is 20 times greater than all
official development assistance to the developing countries.
Each year, 6,570 US workers die because of injuries at work, while 60,225 meet their maker due
to occupational diseases. (Meanwhile, 13.2 million get hurt, and 1.1 million develop illnesses
that don't kill them.) On an average day, two or three workers are fatally shot, two fall to their
deaths, one is killed after being smashed by a vehicle, and one is electrocuted. Each year, around
30 workers die of heat stroke, and another 30 expire from carbon monoxide.
Although blue collar workers face a lot of the most obvious dangers, those slaving in offices or
stores must contend with toxic air, workplace violence, driving accidents, and (especially for the
health-care workers) transmissible diseases. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration
warns that poisonous indoor air in nonindustrial workplaces causes "[t]housands of heart disease
deaths [and] hundreds of lung cancer deaths" each year.
But hey, everybody has to go sometime, right? And since we spend so much of our lives in the
workplace, it's only logical that a lot of deaths happen — or at least are set into motion — on the
job. This explanation certainly is true to an extent, but it doesn't excuse all such deaths. The
International Labor Organization says that half of workplace fatalities are avoidable. In A Job to
Die For, Lisa Cullen writes:
In the workplace, few real accidents occur because the surroundings and operations are
known; therefore, hazards can be identified. When harm from those hazards can be
foreseen, accidents can be prevented....
Most jobs have expected, known hazards. Working in and near excavations, for example,
poses the obvious risks of death or injury from cave-in.... When trenches or excavations
collapse because soil was piled right up to the edge, there is little room to claim it was an
accident.

heyy readers.. I am going to Kursk, Russia for my pre-medical (if my SPM results is good enough) So, here are some information in history about this small place in Russia (Soviet Union)

In 1032, the first written mention of Kursk ("Patrick Pechersky".
And, later in 1508, Kursk entered into the centralized Russian state (became a part of Russia).
Then in 1873, he first water supply appeared in Kursk.
In 1873, the first public library was establish in Kursk.
In 1961, the first program of Kursk local TV appeared.
And on 14th July 1980,the relay race of "Olimpic fire" passed Kursk!! weee~~

SOMETHINGS JUST PISSED ME OFF!!

okay.. Look people.. I am going to Kursk, Russia to do pre-medicine in APRIL .. APRIL..

Then, I have to come back to Malaysia for summer break in Russia, which is from July to August, and guess what the tickets cost RM 4K at the least! Imagine going in April and coming back just 2 months later.. WHAT's THE POINT?!

So, I called the agent and ask whether I could go for the September intake instead.. But unfortunately, the September intake are only for the first year students (with qualification of A-levels/STPM/and stuffs liddat) THIS IS SHIT!

AND THE BEST PART IS.. I WILL BE PAYING FOR THE TICKETS MYSELF!! SHIT!!!

If I knew this stuffs would happen.. I would go for A-levels!! URGH!!

ps: next post is about stuffs that Kursk look like.. Its kinda nice tho..

I am about to tell you a story entitled

The Bishop and The Donkey

In this story, you will learn some stuffs.. and get a good laugh too.. Here goes..

A pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.
The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he
entered it in the race again, and it won again.

The local paper read:

PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity
that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey
in another race. The next day, the local paper
headline read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS.

This was too much for the bishop, so he
ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The
pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.
The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the
following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.

The bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she
would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it
to a farmer for $10. The next day the paper read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the
nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains
where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

The bishop was buried the next day... because he had heart attack.. LOL/../

Moral of the story is...

Being concerned about public opinion can bring you
much grief and misery... and even shorten your life. So, why give a shit about what people say?? Be yourself.. If anybody discredit you.. that person is clearly JEALOUS

DNA MATCHING IS NOT INFALLIBLE

Speaking of tests that aren't all they're cracked up to be, let's look at DNA testing. This is
supposed to be the absolute silver bullet of criminal justice, an incontrovertible way to pin guilt
on someone. After all, the chances of a mismatch are one in a billion, a quadrillion, a zillion!
Some experts have testified under oath that a false match is literally impossible.
Not quite. As he did with HIV testing, risk scholar Gerd Gigerenzer of the Max Planck Institute
punches a hole in the matching of genetic material:
In the first blind test reported in the literature, three major commercial laboratories were
each sent 50 DNA samples. Two of the three declared one false match; in a second test one
year later, one of the same three laboratories declared a false match. From external tests
conducted by the California Association of I Crime Laboratory Directors, the
Collaborative Testing Services, and other agencies, the psychologist Jonathan Koehler and
his colleagues estimated the false positive rate of DNA fingerprinting to be on the order of 1
in 100. Cellmark Diagnostics, one of the laboratories that found matches between O.J.
Simpson's DNA and DNA extracted from a recovered blood stain at the murder scene,
reported its own false positive rate to the Simpson defense as roughly 1 in 200.
It gets even worse. In 1999, the College of American Pathologists performed its own secret tests
of 135 labs. Each lab was sent a DNA sample from the "victim," some semen from the "suspect,"
and a fake vaginal swab containing DNA from both parties. They were also sent a strand of the
"victim's" hair. The object was to see how many of the labs would make the matches (ie, match
the two sperm samples of the man, and match the hair and DNA sample of the woman). But
something unexpected happened: Three of the labs reported that the DNA from the suspect
matched the victim's DNA! Obviously, they had mixed up the samples. Only fourteen labs tested
the hair, but out of those, one screwed it up by declaring a match to the "suspect."
These kind of switches don't happen only during artificial situations designed to gauge a lab's
accuracy (which are usually performed under ideal conditions). During a 1995 rape trial, a lab
reversed the labels on the DNA samples from the victim and the defendant. Their testing then
revealed a match between the defendant's alleged DNA (which was actually the victim's) and the
DNA on the vaginal swab, which didn't contain any semen from the rapist. Luckily, this
boneheaded move was caught during the trial, but not everyone is so lucky.
The Journal of Forensic Science has reported an error that was discovered only after an innocent
man had been convicted of raping an 11-year-old girl and sentenced to prison, where lie was
undoubtedly brutalized in ways that would give you nightmares for the rest of your life, were
you to hear them described in detail. After four years, he was released because the lab hadn't
completely separated the real rapist's DNA (extracted from his semen) from the victim's DNA.
When the two were swirled together, they somehow matched that of the poor bastard whose
eleven alibi witnesses failed to sway the jury. But when the semen DNA was checked properly, it
was beyond doubt that a match didn't exist.
While most false matches are the result of human error, other factors do come into play. Some
testing techniques are more definitive than others. In the case of one innocent man — Josiah
Sutton, found guilty of rape based primarily on DNA evidence — criminology professor William
C. Thompson said: "If police picked any two black men off the street, the chances that one of
them would have a DNA profile that 'matched' the semen sample as well as Sutton's profile is
better than one in eight." Also, we mustn't forget about corruption. In some known cases, DNA
analysts have misrepresented (ie, lied about) their findings in order to obtain convictions.
